Richard Blocker

Richard Blocker is the director of information technology at the Urban Education Institute, and information technology manager and systems administrator at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research. He is primarily responsible for all technology policy, strategy and planning for UEI, the administration of multi-user systems, and computer security.

Prior to joining UEI, Blocker worked for 12 years as the information systems manager in two departments in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. He was responsible for high performance and grid computing initiatives, as well as web and database server systems.

Blocker holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.
