Brenda Macias
Brenda Macias (she/her) is a Research Analyst with the UChicago Consortium and To&Through Project. In this role, she supports data and analytics projects and manages data tools. Having attended CPS schools from pre-K through twelfth grade, Brenda has seen firsthand the impact of a strong school community. This experience drives her dedication to creating accessible data tools and analyses for youth, parents, educators, and community members. She aims to empower them to make informed decisions that best support their schools. Prior to joining, Brenda earned a Master of Science in Mathematics from Tufts University. In grad school, she worked as a summer fellow for MGGG, a research group that uses mathematics and computer science to assess the fairness of voting practices and gerrymandering in U.S. cities. Outside of work, Brenda enjoys cooking and sharing her creations with friends and family. They critique her dishes as if she’s on an episode of Chopped. She also has a 14-year-old Chihuahua named Beancess, who rides in a stroller due to arthritis.
