New state report cards highlight UChicago Charter School's college-going success

Chicago Tribune cover story shows UChicago Charter's college-enrollment rate as #2 among all high schools in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.

For the first time, the annual report cards released by the Illinois State Board of Education include college-going statistics and reveal that the University of Chicago Charter School is among the top high schools in the state in terms of college enrollment. For the 2011-12 school year, 89 percent of UChicago Charter graduates enrolled in college within 12 months, and 92 percent enrolled within 16 months. Not only does this far exceed the Chicago Public Schools and state averages, but it places UChicago Charter as the number two high school in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, behind only Walter Payton College Prep.
