Eugene Robinson

Mr. Eugene Robinson served as the Director of Postsecondary Support and Strategy for the Office of Innovation and Incubation (I&I) at Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Eugene’s primary role was to provide strategic postsecondary support to various CPS offices and over 50+ Options (Alternative) and Charter High Schools to ensure every CPS student graduated with a concrete postsecondary plan, and was ready for college, career and life. Prior to that role he served as the Manager of Postsecondary Initiatives in the Office of School Counseling and Postsecondary Advising. As manager, Eugene led district-wide implementation of the college and career software tool, Naviance for over 150,000 students across 500+ CPS Middle & High Schools, as well as strategy work for senior seminar and other special postsecondary initiatives within the Office of School Counseling & Postsecondary Advising. Over the course of his professional career he has held various positions within the K-16 educational setting and for various nonprofits.

Eugene earned his undergraduate degree from Chicago State University and a Masters in Social Work from the School of Social Service Administration (SSA) at The University of Chicago. He also completed Culinary Arts education at Washburne Culinary Institute, and is an alumnus of City Year Chicago (an AmeriCorps program). Eugene also serves as the president of the University of Chicago SSA Alumni Board and is an advisor to three Chicago based organizations, Gifted and Talented Seven, Inc (GT7), Greater Good Studio, and Chasing23. Eugene is a proud product of CPS, and has a strong passion for postsecondary success, communities and families and young people.
