Chris Young is the Psychometrician at the UChicago Consortium. He earned a BA from Drew University, and a PhD in cognitive psychology from the Ohio State University. He leads the effort to maintain the quality of survey measures developed at the UChicago Consortium. In addition, he provides quantitative analysis support to researchers investigating pathways to student learning and school improvement. Prior to joining the UChicago Consortium, Young investigated questions about the development children’s spatial and mathematical reasoning skills. He also helped design and implement the Getting on Track Early for School Success assessment system for pre-kindergarten teachers that provides resources to teachers so that they can measure and promote their children’s growth in mathematics and literacy.
