Senior Director of the College Graduation Office
University of Chicago Charter School
773-702-2625

Originally from the east coast, Candace spent time working in Washington, D.C. for an education non-profit that recruited and trained graduate students who were interested in working within the field of education outside of the classroom. While in this position she volunteered as a reading tutor for third grade students in Southeast D.C. through the non-profit Reading Partners. Because of this experience, Candace came to realize her passion for education and working with children and young adults within the school setting.

Candace has served in various capacities throughout the UChicago Charter network. Upon completing her graduate studies, she took on the position of Project Director of Health & Wellness. In this role she organized the network’s first 5K walk/run, contracted healthy vending machines for the high school, and collaborated with UChicago Medicine to bring their mobile unit to the elementary campuses for student physicals and  health screenings. Prior to her current role, Candace served as the Chief Alumni Officer within the College Graduation Office. Her responsibilities centered around supporting and engaging UCW graduates as they pursued their post secondary education and careers.

Candace holds a B.S. in Business Management from Babson College and an A.M. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice  where her program of study was Community Schools. During her graduate studies, Candace had the privilege of working as a social work intern for both Youth Guidance’s Becoming A Man program and The Gary Comer Youth Center.
