
Maegen Rose is the senior project manager for the Birth-to-College (BTC) Collaborative at the University of Chicago Urban Education Institute. Rose is responsible for coordinating and supporting the efforts of the Birth-to-College team members at UEI, the Donoghue and North Kenwood/Oakland campuses of the University of Chicago Charter School, key partners at the Ounce of Prevention Fund and its Educare School, and third-party contractors and consultants. Rose plans and executes the Birth-to-College projects that address the four major objectives of the initiative: creating a birth-to-college approach to schooling; developing common standards and systems for the birth-to-college continuum; designing supportive, coherent birth-to-college experiences for families; and disseminating the documented work of the initiative to inform practice and policy across the nation.
Prior to her role as senior project manager for the BTC initiative, Rose served as a project manager for the University of Chicago Charter School and as a development associate at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Rose holds a B.A. in African-American studies and gender studies from Pitzer College and an M.A. from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
