Leticia Cantu is a STEP™ Trainer Associate at UChicago Impact. Cantu is responsible for coaching schools using English and Spanish STEP™.
Cantu is fluent in English and Spanish and has 12 years of experience working with multicultural and urban school districts in Illinois. She has served as a Response to Intervention (RTI) Director and an Educational Diagnostician for ten years, supporting schools developing RTI Programs with a focus on Spanish literacy instruction.
Cantu holds a BA in management and leadership from Judson University and an M.Ed in special education from Northern Illinois University. She has also received a Level II certification in Bilingual Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago's Monarch Center and has presented at the Learning Disabilities Association on best practices in developing bilingual RTI programs.
