Julie McGann

Julie McGann is a STEP coach and literacy coordinator with UChicago Impact.

Prior to joing UEI, McGann taught first grade literacy for 14 years and reading recovery for 18 years. For seven years Julie also acted as a reading specialist, providing remedial literacy supports and serving as a reaching coach to K-5th grade students. McGann has also acted as an adjunct reading professor for ONU teaching various READ cohort classes.

McGann received her BA in elementary education from Northern Illinois University, an MA in reading from Chicago State University, and an MA in administration from Olivet Nazarene University. McGann also holds a Reading Recovery Certification from National Louis University.
