Andrew Schmitz is the Assistant Director of Professional Learning at UChicago Impact. Schmitz plays a critical role in helping schools and districts around the country effectively implement the 5Essentials System and utilize 5Essentials results as a key driver of continuous improvement. Schmitz is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of all 5Essentials professional learning offerings, including tracking key performance metrics for the 5Essentials System in Chicago and nationwide.

Schmitz most recently worked as an Assistant Principal at KIPP Ascend Middle School, where he also founded and coached a rugby team. He holds a master’s degree in public policy with a concentration in education from the University of Chicago Harris School.
